The convention unanimously passed the following resolution:
WHEREAS, there is a Disciplinary Board in and for the Diocese of Georgia established by Diocese of Georgia Title IV Canon 1; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to increase the number of clerical members of the Disciplinary Board from five (5) to six (6) and the number of lay members from four (4) to five (5); and
WHEREAS, the need to increase the number of members of the Disciplinary Board has been addressed by this Convention’s amendment of Title IV Canon 2 §1; and
WHEREAS, it is the norm for canonical changes to take effect upon the adjournment of Convention; and
WHEREAS, the need for service by additional members of Disciplinary Board could arise before the convening of the next Convention of this Diocese; and
WHEREAS, the Committee on Constitution and Canons recommends to this Convention that the additional positions on the Disciplinary Board be filled immediately by the election of persons to fill those positions;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that this Convention elect persons to fill the additional positions on the Disciplinary Board and that their terms of service begin immediately upon the adjournment of this Convention.
